Showing off some headcanon stuff for gelflings! I wanted a basic eye color chart for myself as well for designing characters haha. The eye colors are not exactly biologically correct but….. eh. Fantasy critters. For the eye colors, both the purple and rose gold are listed under the blue groupings because they’re caused by less or lack of pigments, meaning more of the blood from the eye veins show through. Grottans have their own little thing cuz it also includes iris size.

The wings are based mostly on descriptions from the books, or just generally What I’d Do. Because I just like drawing wings. All of the wings also would have color and pattern variety, as well as some difference in shapes. They’re meant to be rather a general idea.
Y’nai, is a gelfling girl of the Dousan Clan, I haven’t search more on her backstory but I’ll work on it

Y'nai ( Ee-NYE) was a Gelfling of the Dousan Clan. She was in charge of tracking and breeding of the Crystal Skimmers, but beside her job, she loved to paint the various shifts of the Crystal Sea (Crystal Desert).
She was brave, collected, curious and wasn’t really afraid of discover new things outside of the Clan tradition.
She loved to eat urdrupes to see how the future and her afterlife looked like (against the shamans’s knowledge of it) and she was pretty much at peace with it, but the effect of the berries on her mind made that sometimes she couldn’t distinguish the present from the future.
She also tended to tease the pepper beetles and tried to catch them, but she released them afterwards.
More headcanons! This time regarding hair color, hair patterns, and skin tones and facial markings. As a note! These are not entirely comprehensive, I’m but one man and also very bad at covering Everything.
Hair colors are pretty general, often you will see them blend into each other. Black is a universal color, found in the gene pools of all seven clans. It’s essentially the base hair color. All hair streaks/coloration are often more saturated and brighter versions of hair normal hair colors. What color they are tends to vary depending on clan and family history.
All hair patterns are possible in every clan, and their commonality is more based on family history. The most common pattern among all seven clans is streaked or flat. All patterns also are possible to layer over each other, with the exception of flat which is a lack of extra color. Sometimes you will even see a gelfling with all bright colors, which tends to be a mutation of striped causing the stripes to be so dense very little true hair color shows through.
All skin tones and markings of course are variable, each clan has it’s own variety on which is most common and which marking colors are most common. Lighter tones and greens are associated with Grottans and Vaprans, with neither of them commonly having facial markings of any kind.If they do, their markings often hit in the violet or green range, sometimes pinkish colors. Browns and reds are common among both Stonewood and Spriton, with those two clans markings ranging from red to green to blue. Dousan are yellows and browns, with markings in the blueish and greenish color ranges. Drenchen are green and brown color ranges, with markings in the blue and green spectrum. Sifa will sit in the lighter browns and pale colors, with greens, blues, and reds as marking colors depending on heritage.
The top set of markings are common among the Stonewood, Spriton, Sifa, and Drenchen. The lower set are extremely common among the Dousan.
